LASIK surgery is fast, bladeless and painless.
Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, or LASIK, is a procedure in which an ophthalmologist uses a laser to reshape the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The cornea is the clear part in the front of eye that focuses light to produce an image on the retina. It is common for the cornea to be misshaped, causing blurred vision. LASIK corrects these imperfections of the cornea.
Patients who undergo conventional LASIK may still need glasses to correct presbyopia after surgery, because LASIK alone cannot treat presbyopia, as it reshapes the cornea, not the lens. With conventional LASIK, both eyes are corrected for distance vision, leaving some patients in need of glasses for reading and other activities that require close-up vision.
With today’s technology, combined with the expertise and experience of our surgeons, most patients achieve 20/20 or better vision! Although this is always the goal, visual results cannot be guaranteed with every patient.
The great majority of patients obtain better than 20/20 vision without correction

When recommending LASIK surgery, there are options available. We’ll customize the right treatment plan based on the results of your initial consultation and these treatment options.
We use a state of the art Intralase iFS® All-laser to reshape your eye’s unique measurement. A painless procedure that leaves you seeing better, and back to life as usual in no time at all. Candidates usually see 20/20 or better after our outpatient procedure.
Custom Wavefront LASIK technology is a huge leap forward in advanced refractive eye surgery. This technology allows our surgeons to customize a treatment specifically for your eyes
We often recommend implantable STAAR Visian ICL™ lenses and Visian® Toric ICL lenses as alternatives to LASIK laser vision correction, especially for those who have high levels of nearsightedness or thin corneas.
Reading glasses are often part of life after 40. Corrective options include monovision LASIK, which corrects your dominant eye for distance and your non-dominant eye for near vision.
PRK is another laser refractive surgery option used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism in patients whose corneas are too thin to qualify for LASIK. The technology has been around longer than LASIK and takes approximately 5 minutes per eye. PRK relies on laser light technology to reshape the cornea. Results are similar to LASIK, but recovery is a bit slower.
